CAP AND PIN TYPE SUSPENSION INSULATORS
TOUGHENED GLASS SUSPENSION INSULATORS
LIFENG manufactures a wide range of low and high voltage Pin Type insulators designed for distribution systems, highly resistant to lightning puncture.
Pin insulators of one piece or multi-piece construction are widely used in low cost distribution lines. Multi-piece construction makes these insulators less vulnerable to damage as with one shell broken a multi-piece insulator can normally withstand the line voltage for a considerable time without difficulty.
Main Dimensions and Particulars of Spindle for Pin Type Insulators ANSI standard
Spindle for pin insulator Definition:
The top of spindle for pin type insulator usually have steel, lead or plastic thread which can be screwed into the pin insulator. Steel head spindle is suitable for zinc thimble type insulator. Lead or plastic head spindle is suitable for porcelain thread insulator.
About spindle for pin insulator:
The thread on the shank of spindle for pin insulator, before galvanizing, shall be ISO metric coarse pitch series "free" class (8g) conforming to BS 3643-2. The effective thread on the shank shall be not less than 45 mm long for the 50 mm shank and not less than 75 mm long for the130 mm shank.
The external dimensions of the nut of spindle for distribution ceramic pin insulator, before galvanizing, shall conform to BS 4190 and it shall have a thread, cut after galvanizing, conforming to BS 3643-2, but sufficiently oversize to accommodate the threaded part of the galvanized shank, as specified in 6.4. The increase in diameter to conform to this requirement shall not however exceed 0.4mm. The threads of nuts shall be oiled.
The minimum failing load of the spindle for pin insulator shall be 0.7 kN (pilot pins only), 5 kN or 10 kN.
